      Target Audience: Third-Year Bachelor's Students – English Language

      General Objectives of the Course:

      The Text Linguistics course aims to reinforce the linguistic skills previously acquired by students, as well as introduce them to new concepts in the fields of lexicon, grammar, and morphosyntax. The course focuses on the study of various types of texts, helping students understand how meaning is constructed within a text. It also includes cultural knowledge that enhances students' ability to interpret and analyze texts more effectively.

      Through this course, students will gain an understanding of the linguistic aspects within texts written in the national language, contributing to the enhancement of their analytical and interpretive skills, and ultimately improving the quality of their academic projects and content.

          يتمثل الهدف العام للمقياس في إكساب الطلاب معرفة جديدة عن اللسانيات النصية، ولسانيات التلفظ، ولسانيات الخطاب، والنصانية، مع التركيز على العلاقة بين النصوص، الخطابات، اللغة، والأدب.

          و بنهاية الجلسات، يجب أن يكون المتعلم قادرًا على:

          • التعرف على النص، والخطاب، نحو النص، ونظرية التلفظ، وعلم النص.

          • معرفة العلاقة بين اللسانيات، الأدب، والعلوم المجاورة.

          • بيان العلاقة بين النصوص والخطابات، اللغة، والأدب.

          • توضيح وضعية الاتصال.

          • إنتاج تعبير شفهي أو كتابي يعكس وضعية الاتصال باللغة العربية.

          • فهم أنواع النصوص المتعلقة بالتخصص، خاصة تلك التي تركز على دراسة المعلومات والاتصال.

          The general objective of the course is to provide students with new knowledge about text linguistics, speech act theory, discourse analysis, and textuality, with a focus on the relationship between texts, discourse, language, and literature.

          By the end of the sessions, the learner should be able to:

          • Recognize texts, discourse, text syntax, speech act theory, and text linguistics.

          • Understand the relationship between linguistics, literature, and related fields.

          • Explain the relationship between texts, discourse, language, and literature.

          • Clarify the communication situation.

          • Produce an oral or written expression that reflects the communication situation in Arabic.

          • Understand types of texts related to the specialty, particularly those focusing on the study of information and communication.

          • Express themselves clearly to ensure understanding.

            يعد الفهم العميق للمكونات اللغوية الأساسية مثل النحو، والصرف، وعلم الأصوات، والدلالة أمرًا أساسيًا. هذه المفاهيم تشكل الأساس لاستكشاف تعقيدات اللغة داخل النصوص. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يوفر تحليل الخطاب وعلم النص إطارًا لفهم كيفية تكامل اللغة مع السياقات الاجتماعية والثقافية، مما يساعد في تفسير المعنى بشكل أعمق.

            A deep understanding of fundamental linguistic components such as grammar, syntax, phonology, and semantics is essential. These concepts form the foundation for exploring the complexities of language within texts. Additionally, discourse analysis and text linguistics provide a framework for understanding how language integrates with social and cultural contexts, aiding in the deeper interpretation of meaning.

            Note: In the Text Linguistics course, students will build upon this prior knowledge from general linguistics, discourse analysis, and text linguistics. They will learn how linguistic structures influence meaning formation in various types of texts. Students will have the opportunity to explore how language functions in different contexts, enhancing their ability to engage critically with written and spoken texts across different genres.
